Game History Immersion

I feel PzC2 to be much less history immersive as PzC1.
The only positive point is the much improved briefings at the start of each scenario.
These are the reasons behind this feeling I have:
- Briefings after battles: This was very nice to have. After battle briefings sometimes also give you a glimpse of what comes next.
- Decisive, Marginal Victories & Loss: Although I understand the reasons behind the remove of this mechanic, something must be done to get the feeling between a good performance in battle vs not performing well. Maybe some optional victory points could be set (like in Moscow scenario). The prestige award for ending the scenario soon only urge you to rush which almost always comes at the cost of loses which completely eats up any extra prestige won. An even if you don't rush and perform extremely well the prestige won is not that much.
- Heroes grant mechanic: I don't know the mechanic behind PzC1 hero grants, but It was nice and rewarding the way heroes where given to you. Now it's extremely mechanic. Also in PzC1 you can use the heroes abilities right away in the middle of combat.
- Historical Heroes: Having a unit commanded by Rudel, Oleh Dir, etc. was huge. I loved to have this kind of heroes work and what they represent.
- SE Units: this units where special and very valuable. Now there are no special units (only heroes).
- The library: This was very nice to have. I spend a lot of time looking at the beautiful images and reading the units description.

Glad you like the improved briefing writing and system of Panzer Corps 2!
To your other concerns, it seems that half of them weren't really part of Panzer Corps, but the Grand Campaign. The historical debriefings, historical heroes.
As for the other half this is definitely a common topic, so I think it's safe to say they're listening. And we'll see what they do about it moving forward.
Aren't SE units obsolete? With the unit customization options available, you can create your own SE units, and give them any camo pattern you want instead of only having one camo pattern forced on them.
And for the library, I really liked having the Grand Campaign trees, and art, in the library. It was a lot of fun coming up with unique art depictions that were representative of each piece of the Grand Campaign.

Which brings to mind... as
an 'Option' for player's... to customize their own 'Upgrades' for 'Units/Wot'?. Have you ever seen how this is done... for example with an Old-Game (20+Years Old)... which is now currently available on 'Steam'... its called
"Imperium Galactum II".
In this Game... you can
access Any-'Unit' in a "3-D perspective" if you prefer, then rotate it any which-way you desire to see it at all angles if you like...
and then can also "Accoutremize" your 'Units' any which way that you see fit... instead of having to choose from a palette of pre-out-fitted assemblies of 'Units'.
This could perhaps be an
'Option' for 'Risk-Takers'... who would enjoy being
'Masters-of-their-own-Destiny/Density'!.
"En-Addition"... After-thought remarks:
Of course...
in "Imperium"... you first need to do
'specific-technology-research' in-order... to then be able to upgrade your units with advanced weapons. When upgrading units... the 3-D image will flash on the pertaining image/or illustrated 3-D object... where the specific upgrades are then available to be installed.
You can also upsize/make larger or downsize/make smaller the displayed object to suite your preference.
This Game is an 'Oldie... but Goodie'... it still has a lot of potential for improvement if the right party can get a hold of it and do a major overhaul!.

I finally finished my first playthrough and was a bit surprised to see no debriefing after Berlin. While I was fine with no debriefings after each individual mission (since the scenario choice screens mostly summed up the situation), something to conclude all the efforts would have been nice. The game however just abruptly goes back to the main menu, when even a small table or a bit of text with no voiceover would have been fine.

Yeah, the game was released in beta, unfinished.
I had said nothing for now, but it's what I thought before playing an hour.
Again I'm wrong paying in advance, the very few times I did.
It's fearfull, if it's the same devs who never finished Sovereignty (?)

Really? How was the game released in "beta"?
Because there are no debriefings? Well no, that was a design decision. (personally I think a wrong decision not to have one at the very end)
Because there's no 2D counters? Again no because that was a design decision. I still don't think there's much to gain in adding them but understand others would like them, still doesn't make the game unfinished not to have them.
Or is there some other reason you believe the game to be in "beta" still?

+1 for the author of the topic,
and plz add :
- a codex with the possibility to rotate 3D units. We can't even zoom and rotate units in game.
- real names for all heroes. and enemy heroes ( i haven't encountered one yet )
- a profile player with all achieved campigns, scenarios medals.

I often find myself trying to rotate the image!! that's definitely something we need!
