Question about who get the points?

If my tank is heavily damaged and the crew destroys it, does my opponent get points for its elimination?
I don't know because I only play single player.
You and your human opponent could arrange to play a test game to find out, and post here what the answer is..
PS- but if its heavily damaged it's no use to anybody so why not just abandon it, why bother destroying it?
