MP Failed to send the game to the server. Please try again.

Unfortunately I get this error every time I try to end my turn on multiplayer. It can take up to an hour or more of retrying to send my turn and redoing my turn after the option to cancel it. It is getting worse everyday and has now reached the point where it is just not playable.

A real shame as I love the game and multiplayer and I am letting everyone down by not being able to take moves while also constantly frustrated and wasting my time. Also convinced my friend to buy the game to play with me and now he is constantly left waiting all day for my turn and is having similar issues.

Thought this might just be a server issue but my friend is experiencing the issue on a much smaller scale than myself. Any ideas what I can try to fix this?

Are you playing on wifi? Some wifi drivers are... imperfect. A hardline ethernet connect can often solve these kinds of upload issues.

Hi Pip,

Thanks for the reply. I have tried with direct connection and the problem is not really better. Could it be that I am playing from Asia or a current influx of players due to the Corona isolation policies?

At this Stage I am going to have to resign from about 7 of my 9 online games (probably to the frustration of the other players) as it is taking generally half an hour just to get a successful loading of a turn.

This is very disheartening and disappointing to say the least.

It's a pretty small upload via HTTP so there should not really be any issues with location unless you are on a very very slow connection? There are plenty of PBEM games ongoing, so my first guess would be that it is a local network issue. You could try reaching out to your ISP.

You also shouldn't need to replay your turn, retrying should eventually get it sent if it is working in the end. But I will recheck the retry logic to ensure there isn't a problem.

Cheers
