Planes in PC2

I am playing Steel Steamroller.

Soviet planes cannot reach south area from any of their back based airports. One plane if lucky can barely get it if the game decides it gets the south west hex on the mid back base. Which is just luck

The new rule for plane movement rule was not well thought out as it is irrelevant of the size of the map. Why can Paratroopers stay in the sky for several turns????

Planes are very limited in their actions... The fights are always the same.. You quickly know what they will do since they location is always pinned to an airport.

Again i guess a design decision for solo campaigns which totally ruins the MP games. It also puts a heavy burden on airport locations in the design of maps.. and makes winning random maps more prone to luck

Sorry to be negative.. but I am not having fun.

One of the most important strategies of the Steel scenario (also in PC1) is capturing air bases so I can't agree there.

Parts of the new AF concept I like some I don't

Returning to the airbases each turn is a good idea an improvement although it adds too much predictability.

In PC2 its very important to protect your air base which is fine. I noticed that stationed troops don't entrench there over time is that correct? They should entrench over time.

Losing ALL your AF at an airbase if its captured in bad weather is a very poor concept.

You should be able to pick which airbase you want to change to if your airbase is captured.

I find many of the concepts that work fine vs AI don't translate well to the MP game.

Stationary troops in an airbase do entrench over time, but slowly because airbases are typically "clear" terrain, where entrenchment is very slow and has a low maximum.

Not off-hand unfortunately. :(
