Playing Without Traits (exploits)

Thanks to the experts on this excellent sim, a few Traits have been deemed 'OP' or, at least must haves for achieving certain goals.
For the most part, this game targets solo players.
Therefore, you can play the way you want to maximize your enjoyment.

There are many ways to increase the games challenges, to include, choosing Traits that are not as good as the recommended ones.
But...who would do that? :)

One thing to try is, simply, playing with no Traits.
This would eliminate the synergizing of certain Traits & put more emphasis on one's play &, of course, each Hero one receives.
Considering the AI does not get these bonuses, that seems fair.
Another idea (for a challenge) is to just allow for the selection of 1 positive Trait or God forbid, 1 negative Trait for that matter. :)
Anyways, just some thoughts.

I wouldn't define them as exploits. That goes a bit too far.

Exploit is a trait that increases prestige capture from hexes to be repeatedly, endlessly. It's not an exploit just to be a one time boost.

That said, I'm pretty sure the philosophy is to mostly let players play as they choose. What else is the purpose of the wealth of options to turn on, or off, at the start of any given campaign.

I do wonder how people will react once the AI starts to wield their own heroes.

Will they want 'no heroes' to apply to enemy units as well? Meaning the player can't earn them, and the AI has them removed if a scenario has been configured to have them?

Fair enough & I concur on allowing as many options the game can permit.
Some of my posts stem from having some extra time on my hands. :)

Oooh, 'will react', not 'would react', interesting! :D

Anyhow, I think PG had AI units with heroes in certain scenarios. I'd say there is a pretty low bar for this to become incredibly annoying, but AI heroes may be kind of fun and memorable if used sparingly and in a way that makes thematic sense (think infantry with Ferocious Defence for Pavlov's House).

Sure. I tolerate super-heroes if I may have some, but I'll remove them for all, AIs and me, if the AI can use them too.

Instead of super-heroes, devs, as the game went PG3D-Assault, please add its commandants.
