Possible bug in my tourament game

I charge my opponents cavalry while he was already in melee combat with another of my units. The result showed a draw resulting in 11 men lost for me and 1 man lost for the chariot. The chariot immediately sunk into the ground as if it had broken and dispelled. Seems like strange behavior and possibly a bug. I ended my turn so that I could comment to my opponent what had happened. So my question is:
1. Bug or not?
2. what's the best approach to saving the game state. Should I have stopped and saved rather than ending the turn?
Thanks,
Mike

Impossible to say. It may have autobroken - it isn't always obvious that that is imminent when there is only 1 model in the unit anyway

What you did is fine, but we have no way of checking the save for bugs. So you may as well continue the turn now.

Thank you for your quick reply, Richard.
I guess he could have autobroken, but usually, there is a notification that a unit breaks in this manner. In this instance, there was none, the units both showed their losses in yellow as usual and then the chariot's flag turned white and it sunk into the ground.
Could I have done something differently to allow the game to be examined for errors?

No. we can examine SP saves, but not MP.

Was it a Scythed Chariot? They always just disappear after one round of melee.

Well spotted Paul. It was a tournament game, and the current tournament game is Pontic vs Bithynian. Scythed chariots are the only sort available.

Yes it was! Thanks, it's something that I had never seen before and had me scratching my head.
