AI gone a bit Whacky?

I was playing the Kasserine scenario and beating my head against a brick wall trying to finish it on time when the AI gave me a great gift. There was a stubborn Chruchhill MkIV blocking my adavance across the north. I was trying to figure a way to get my sole Tiger to engage it as everything else was just pinging 1 pt at a time away, when it suddenly charged up into the hills to engage my infantry. Next turn they destroyed it in one shot opening the way in the North. About the same time, a M3 TD hopped up onto the hills to attack my Sdkfz 222 that had put the final kill on a inf unit. Next time my Inf took him out too. There should be a AI rule to not charge into the hills or rough terrain if there is INF in range.

Classic AI.
It evaluates attack odds, and if good enough, will gladly place tanks in close terrain, with horrible consequences on your turn.
It lacks the ability to evaluate the terrain it ends upon.
