hi folks,

after starting playing again here some few things i find need some change !

first game i played Bosporus again hordes of steppe barbarians, first surprise Alan is a foot warband army !!! when you look they're heavy infantry icon they look like sparabara but in fact this is celtic or german warband ! never heard of any Alan heavy infantry in history and any books but…. at the start of the game with a few medium spearmen, lights and one chariot ! and a poor general, i have to fight better cavalry ant ton of heavy warbands with of course the Alan Hannibal commanding them :D funny but steppe heavy infantry never existed.
Later in the game, Sarmatian or scythe were rotten state and large part of their realm were in revolution. Apparently a desertic slave revolt and i have to fight desertic style armies !!!! in actual ukraine !!! :) tons of camels of course and lot of laughting !

other game this time with Lysimachus, all heard of the great stunning Byzance city who last for ever .... in FoG empire in 279 Bc it already here ! we have byzantion ! i spent twenty years besieging the town by land and sea ! for no result, zero dead, zero breache, my economy was crippled, my ressource too but byzantion had no issue ! no problem of food, no problem to pay his troops ! don't mess with Byzantion guys !!! :D seriously ?

see you around i feel i will still having funny discovery in that game ! who is a good one but strange things happened here ! :D

To besiege Byzantium you MUST have a naval blockade on each of their harbour entrances (there are two)....

If you think that's tough try taking Rhodes

Byzantium was a colony of Megara traditionally founded circa 667 BC. It certainly existed as a city state in 310 BC.

Obviously it wasn't a powerful state before Constantine, but the game uses some artistic licence.

However, it was called Constantinople after Constantine, and the Byzantines called themselves Romans.

So in fact, Byzantium only existed before the "Byzantine" Empire. Historians call the East Roman Empire "Byzantine", for no good reason, after the original name of the city before it was Constantinople.

WAD, same happens Sicily-Italy.

fleets only stop land movements if the region border is all sea.

Historically naval blockade was hard in this period because fleets had to be beached every night, and a suitable beach might be miles away from the place they were trying to blockade.
