in Blitzkrieg - Strafing units with BF109 never seems to inflict any damage

This is because the BF109 has low ground attack stats, and is not specialized for it. Strafing with fighters is most useful (to me) for keeping low efficiency units at low efficiency

Strafing units with the BF109 can be somewhat helpful but tedious what ya can do is check all the attack value results of various units if you see a truck full of infantry or an arty unit not entrenched or as mentioned above we low efficiency units it can come in handy .... I always struggle between having enough fighters vs ground attack ...

Yeah, after you've accomplished air superiority, fighters are best used against weak enemy units like AT and arty and/or to strafe units to prevent efficiency recreation.

this game isnt about getting kills with single units, its a Combined arms game. the arty is the master of this game IMO, i look for the arty that is going to drop that Effic down on units so them my Inf and Arm can come in and destroy a unit!

A Bf110 can be used both as a fighter and a light tactical bomber. But it won't excel at either role...
