Or is it only on a natural roll of 2?

It is not a natural roll of 2. It is a final score (after modifiers) of 2 or less.

Thanks. That's real interesting. So in theory a chewed up, disrupted unit of medium foot with a flank threat getting its ass beat by lancers could have as high as 58% chance of double dropping. (-1 losing melee, -1 25% casualties, -1 flank threat, -1 beaten by lancers, -1 disrupted. Any roll of 7 or less double drops.)
