Let no one say captures aren't worthwhile

Yes, that's more than 5000 prestige on Generalissimus with heroes turned off and without liberator. Capturing works.

Well that's not capturing necessarily, but it is excellent application of surrendering!

Thank you so much. Because of your thread i have now over 5000 Prestige, instead of 470. This time i will change history.

Next time i take more ground scouts. One was not enough, thats why you have so much prestige even before dunkirk. Very impressive.

Yeah, recons are insane at setting up opportunities to get enemies to surrender. Especially if you take the trait where friendly units negate EZOCS(this means recons totally ignore EZOCs due to their phased movement).

Now i have the opposite problem: i dont loose anymore, even on new maps. Even auxilarys get elite replacements, because i drown in prestige. In my pc1 mod the player lost prestige, when he lost aux troops, or capital ships for ex. In the norwegian szeanrio its minus 1000 for loosing the admiral hipper. But you get 1000 prestige for killing the brit. carrier. (btw. i sank that thing in norwegian and it reappeared at the suez canal later  ) So this could be a solution to the "too much prestige" problem.

I will try generalissimus-iron man, without double capture boni and liberator. Maybe even without anti air veteran trait, because its too mighty. And the so called negative trait, bad logistic, never hurt me, never. Not a single moment. And you get 2 trait points for it.

I don't understand how you can be drowning in prestige unless I have no idea what I am doing. At max difficulty level, I would have to see how these
expert players handle the hordes of killer tanks, infantry and endless air assaults when you have limitred units and what looks like to me about 600 prestige. I enabled
the cheat function, added 30,000 prestige, doubled the number of units up into the 160's and still lost. How anybody with cheap units could ever make it to these far flung victory hexes
is simply beyond my understanding

A lot depends on trait selection.

The way SineMora, charonjr and I are playing the game is far more fluid than it would normally be due to our positive trait selection. It's thus not really representative of a "normal" run, with locking ZOCs in particular making it difficult to perform moves even remotely like ours.

Many people seem to underestimate "anti air trait". It makes your 88 guns real killers. They are so powerful, especially if they have 3 or more stars and overstrenght, that the allied air attacks result in costly failures. Since the western allies heavily depend on a strong air force, this trait alone makes the game super easy, IF you take the africa path. (i never tested the anti air trait with barbarossa, because i dont use the trait anymore because its op, but moscow 43, which follows the african path, i won fst time in iron man and never ever played that map before-this easy victory over russia brought me to cancel that campaign, because it didnt feel like i deserved to see seal lion in that way...) And yes, the allied air force costs you so much prestige. (without anti air trait of course) Even with 5 Foque Wulf elite units you have constant prestige loss through allied bombing.
Because when you use them to hunt and kill allied planes, they cant protect your ground units. So the ai always finds a target. But with the anti air trait, your units are guarded very, very good, all the time. Most of the time the allies dont dare to attack at all, with their planes. Because ai knows, that if it attacks, it will loose 5 till 9 planes in ai turn. And in my turn i kill the rest. So you safe enormous amounts of prestige because of anti air trait. If you combine this with liberator and or trophies for capturing, you will have more prestige that you will ever need.

And ai may have lotz of troops, but its stupid. It always bites the bait. I just say strong anti tank guns.............The hardest enemy is time, in some scenarios. If thats the problem, its always because of a wrong plan. And with a bad plan, all the prestige cheated, won´t save you. Astonishing, how easy some maps can become, with the proper use of bridge engineers and or paratroopers. And the karl gerät ... tends to speed up problem solution too.

So yes it is possible to make the game too easy, even on the highest difficulty. But that difficulty doesnt mean much, in my opinion. The general traits are powerful tools to make the game harder or easier. So at difficulty general the game can be harder, with certain traits, then generelassimus with op traits. ( i mean double entrenchement for example...try it on stalingrad map - its hell  )

So the "good players" aren´t god like über field marshals, they are very good in exploiting design weaknesses. (and of course they know the game mechanics perfectly)

He probably means 'Trench Slog' - each attack reduces 1 less entrenchment than normal.
Which means only Strats and artillery remove entrenchment.

Phased movement units can effectively ignore ZoC anyway, without any general traits needed. Just move the recon hex by hex to creep around the enemy unit. What Perimeter Control allows you is to use recons doing this as a sort of slingshot for other friendly units to push through a gap in enemy lines that would normally be covered by ZoC.
