Combat Predictions

Is it my imagination, or is combat less chaotic and "swingy" than the previous version?
It seems the combat outcome generally deviates from the prediction by only a point or two.

The major difference with a low A-D there will be minimal damage even with a bad die roll.
PzC had a minimum kill/hit chance ~10%. In PzC2 minimum kill/hit chance is 0%.
Combat results are now split into two stages:
1) hit/miss - based on accuracy
Hits then get converted to:
2) kill/suppress/deflect - based on Attack-Defense values.
This gives two degrees of freedom to control combat results.
