Can evader hamper enemy?

Last night during a game I found this situation which let us in doubt. One LF BG has been charged by 2 enemy BGs and LF evaded bisecting the angle of charges. Doing so they moved diagonally. After movement (impact phase) they ended partially in front of an enemy Cav and at a distance inferior to normal movement of this Cav. I state Cav in manoeuvre phase must end its move before contacting LF (Cav cannot avoid LF due to other intervening BGs). Did I do right?
Cav cannot charge LF at impact phase because mounted troops were out of range, but I guess this shouldn't modify the situation, because I think if Cav is in range and don't charge, in manoeuvre phase must anyway stop before intervening LF.
