Negotiating for Client State regions?

As the Ptolomies, I am ready to reach peace with the Antigonids. The Antigonids are a client state of Maurya. So I have to negotiate peace with Maurya. I am also at war with Maurya but I am ready for peace with both the Antigonids and the Mauryans.
However when I negotiate with Maurya and want Maurya to cede regions from their client state Antigonid, I am only given the option to take Mauryan regions. Unless I am missing something, I cannot demand client state Antigonid regions while negotiating with Maurya.
So how do you negotiate for ceding of client state regions?

I'm interested in the answer as well
That would be better if it was possible. The ability to transfer ownership of an entire client-state could be nice as well, it happened often especially for Armenia between Rome and Parthians

It does make sense but how do you propose to do three way negotiations? To get a region from a client you'd need to negotiate with them first. The clients we currently have are very much self controlled and are only loosely bound.
OTOH giving away the complete client seems reasonable.

I think an overlord could realistically cede a region of its client in a peace deal, at the expense of a malus in relationships between client and master, and/or a malus in loyalty for any population that shares the ethnicity of the client state in the overlord's regions
That could be a bit hard to implement and manage however, so a simple transmission of the vassalage could be better indeed

You'll be able to ask for the regions of a client-state of your enemy in next patch.

Could this lead to the client state disagreeing with its master and throwing off the shackles, becoming independent and continuing the war until a separate peace is concluded?
Also, maybe a limited negotiation could be allowed with a client state for a separate peace, with a requirement that they break the client status. I think that would need to have a very high war score cost.
This could already be in the game if you occupy an entire client state. I haven't had this situation yet, so I'm not sure if client states work the same way as conquering an independent nation, destroying it completely and not needing a peace deal at all. Maybe someone who's done this could comment.

I assume, though can't guarantee, that it works the same way as conquering all the regions of a faction that has a surviving ally - in which case they remain in play with any surviving armies.

It would be interesting to be able to negotiate directly with a client state directly even without having to conquer them.
If the war goes bad for your overlord a client might be inclined to switch sides even if the war hasn't touched him directly.

It does seem to work that way. I just occupied all of a client state, but was still at war with it. Luckily all they had left was 2 units close by, and once they died I was no longer at war with the client state and the owner showed it was fighting alone.

In one of my current games I'm at war with a client state and its protector. The client state borders my realm, but the protector is the other side of a large neutral country (Macedonia). I have occupied a substantial part of the client state, but they won't have peace talks with me, they refer me to their protector (protector in name only

). When I talk to the overlord, they aren't interested in peace because their war score is neutral having not lost any territory. So it seems I will be forced to defeat all the client state regions, and kill all their armies, to bring this to an end. It's not what I want to do, but...
Surely a client state would break from the protector at some point, particularly if the protector isn't protecting (we're not even having any combat), and hold its own negotiations?

Ok, I was wondering what the heck was going on as Maurya I tried to get Bactrian provinces from the Seleucids. The other thing I noticed is that there is no easy way to ask for provinces that you have conquered. Only regions. I would really like to ask for an entire province I conquered instead of a clickfest of clicking on each and every region.

I'm confused, there is a Province clause...

Yes, there is a province clause. But you can't use it to ask for ownership of a province that you have already taken possession of. Possibly because your enemy no longer possesses the province even though he still officially owns it until ceded in a peace treaty?

Mmmh, I'll check then, thanks.
