Light Horse vs Scythed Chariots

Was playing a Campaign game and had some scythed chariots getting in a position that was going to be a concern, so to distract them for a bit I sent a Light Horse unit to hit them from the flank. The Scythed Chariot was not only distracted, but ended up being destroyed by a Light Horse holding firm.

The Scythed chariots already seem very fragile, and I can see infantry units cutting them up, or elephants just crushing them, but I don't think a throwaway unit like Light Horse should be able to tie them down and destroy them.

No point loss to the enemy for sure, but with Light Horse having such huge movement range this makes the Chariots even easier to destroy. I would like to see the chariots be a threat and at least engage a worthy foe.

Am I alone in this or could Lt Horse be adjusted to be disrupted by Scythed Chariots, or prevented from taking them down so quickly at least.

I would imagine that LH are the perfect foil to scythed chariots precisely because of their loose order and speed, I can't imagine anyone better for the job

By reading the manual, scythed chariots seem to be a balanced unit with significant strengths and weaknesses, consistent with what is known of this unit.

I find them perhaps a bit *too* underwhelming in the strengths department.

By design, reflecting their mostly disappointing historical performance.
