Spaniards or Russians?

So I have a dilema. I have a pretty good ancient list already, but I am looking at making up a medieval one. I am split between Spaniards and Later Russians, as the title indicated. For Spaniards Iam looking at the Santa Hermandad Nueva Something-or-other list. I don't have SoA yet so i don't know exactly whats in the Spanish list but the Russians in EE look pretty good.
Does anyone have any suggestions for these lists? Pros/Cons?

Santa = very pretty presents for you under the tree!
It's popular with good reason. I expect you would be quite satisfied. I do not own this army but I have played with it and against it and it can both play and paint up very well.
Later Russian is a shooty Cavalry army, very different and Medieval in date but not in feel. If you don't have a particular affinity for Russians, there are many other shooty horse armies out there with a greater variety of intriguing choices to play with and you might want to get more exposure to the game and the armies before picking one.

Thanks, Mike!
Whats all in the Santa army, btw? Like I said, I don't have the book yet. What I am expecting are Knights, Pikes, Sword and Buckler men, and Arquebusiers / Crossbowmen. Does this sound about right? How does this list compare to the (later) Castilian list?
I do have a particular affinity for the Russians, which is why I was looking at them. I like the shooty superior cavalry. The only problem boils down the the fact that Old Glory doesn't have any pictures of what their Russians look like. They do have pictures of Spaniards and they look awesome. Thus far I have had no complaints with any of the Old Glory sculpts I have bought, but w/o the pictures I just can't make a decision.

Exactly, plus some offensive and defensive spear (basically instead of or with the pike), and lots of Jinettes, the best value LH in the game, pity I personnally don't like the rest of the army.
