Has there been any word on DLCs or other updates (and what might be in them)?

OH HELL YEAH! There is big news, the Diplomacy open Beta is in free test mode and there have been some tremendous improvements and additions. You can get it on Steam thru your games Library. Right-click-properties-betas.

I am having plenty of fun with the new game.

Can someone explain/describe what the diplomacy adds and how it changes the game from how it is now? I looked through the beta notes, and see it adds this and that and these treaties or whatever they were called. But can someone explain how the game is now and how it will be different with diplomacy?

Went through beta posts again. So, it's interacting with the AI? Not w multiplayer. If I'm remembering right, before, there was little actual interaction with another country as you carved off pieces of it. Now there are all kinds of options and interactions?

The end results from wars are going to be resolved through actual peace negotiations with lots of new options, rather than the old system of "you occupy the region, you're stuck with it". You can also trade regions, resources and provincial units with other factions outside of war, including in exchange for diplomatic treaties (previously, only sending monetary gifts was possible). That all works with both AIs and other human players. I really think it's going to add a new dimension to the game.

Thanks. That's kind of what I was hoping for clarification.
