It says the Indo-Greek list starts c180, would it therefore be legal to have a Mauryan drilled Classical Indian ally ?
Cheers

Since the list says it starts with the rise of the Indo-Greeks after the fall of the Maurya, I think not.

I agree....not likely to be "legal". THAT said.....If you and a (or several) opponent(s) want to try whatever out....NOT at a event, not as an example to new players etc......why not do it?? Load up on snacks and beverages.....Give it a try.
IMHO....not every game has to be strictly by the book ie...."legal".

Well, I'd buy a backstory about Maurya remnants controlled by a treacherous noble with grandiose aspirations intriguing with foreign invaders to revenge himself for betrayal by _____________.
