Only 4 for the non-Beta testers, but FM pre-order owners...if only for a "2 day trial".

That's true!
You have something to look forward to.
I prefer the Poland N - Bug River - Norway S - Sedan - Channel Coast - Paris string of scenarios, but you can find your own favorite path

✌

I know the previewers were limited to the first 12 scenarios. Same applies to beta preview?

That will be good enough for me. Only have a couple of days to play anyway. Will be nice to get a sense of how the game feels before the final release.

I do appreciate the fact we get two days to play, but it would have been awesome to have access all the way to release. One company did that for anyone that preordered. It was great. It was an expensive game to they wanted to show gratitude to the supporters of the game.
Game looks amazing. Well done developers
Thank you

Time Zone Issue!:
For example!, I live on the Pacific Coast of British Columbia, ...in Canada... and for myself it seems that when the 48hr gaming period begins and ends...that it could very well segment my gaming time into a dis-favorable situation regarding available Gaming Time?.
Anyway...I would really have preferred that my gaming time would begin when I would personally choose to start it...and then for it to end after the 48hrs has elapsed. Is it at all possible to configure this concept into a real actuality?.
Anyway!!!...I'm so glad that the developers have had the patience to not rush the creation of this Game... I think in the long run...that...that will have proved to be a decisive factor in their favor!...especially when going forward with hypothetically...an "Italian Campaign", ...a "Western Allies Campaign", a "Russian Campaign"... a "Pacific Campaign"...and so forth.

Hemi!...you possibly might think that I live in
"Prince Rupert" , however...actually I'm located in
"Kitimat" (The Region of the Heavy-Snowfalls). Kitmat is situated at the very end of the 'Douglas Channel'... which is approximately 40 miles or 60 km from the Pacific Ocean. So!...in essence...I'm still on the Coast!. I have experienced 2 meters or 6 feet of snow-fall here within a 24 hour period.

I live in Port Angeles, the other end of the ferry from Victoria. I'm half a mile from the Pacific, with the Olympic Mountains a few miles behind me. I've experienced lake effect snow in my life, but snowfall here is dependent on elevation. Too close to the ocean and too low to get much at my house.

After playing the beta I feel really excited about the game. I just hope the hero thing gets fixed (or is easily moddable).

I don't like the randomization of heroes. I want names of actual soldiers of World War 2, to be the heroes you recieve during the campaign. And I also want the heroes to be specific to the unit type, so for example if you recieve hero Hub Zemke, he can only be assigned to fighter plane units. Right now, any hero can be placed in any unit.
It also annoyed me that one hero type was called "uber unit", which sounds ridiculous to me. I hope they atleast will change the name of that type.

That's not part of the core game. But future campaigns could have historical heroes. It's possible.
I find the Uber (Super) trait name quite funny and fitting.

Well, what is the core game? Panzer General had no heroes but Panzer Corps did. So the franchise has evolved and now it's there and I think the feature in itself is nice, albeit not a feature the makes or breaks the game, and I think it would be massively better if it used historical heroes instead of random names. But that's because I'm a history buff. Others are not of course.
If Panzer Corps 2 was a humoristic game like the old Lucas Arts adventure games, sure, I'd agree with you that 'uber unit' is fitting. However I see it as a historical strategy game, of the beer and pretzel kind, and there's absolutely no humour in the game (which for me is just where it's supposed to be).

The Core Game is the original campaign, or one of the stand alone campaigns, AC, AK, SC.
None of the Core Campaigns have named or uber hero's.

The DLCs creators however have added specific named Heroes.
Such as [Hans-Ulrich] Rudel, who is the author of 'Stuka Pilot' [his autobiography].
The Uber trait name was added by users to distinguish 'Recon Rudel' with negative hero traits from 'Uber Rudel' with +9 attack and +9 defense traits.
Modders and the DLC developers [may/should] have the option to add named and/or uber heroes if they want.
Since no DLCs or mods exist yet, the issue is up in the air.
The only way to be sure you get the uber heroes you want is to mod the game yourself.

The original game, Panzer General, had no heroes at all in it's vanilla campaign. So heroes were never part of the original core game. It's something that has been added along the road. So no one can claim that the heroes in the game have always been "this or that way". It's part of the franchise that have evolved during all these years and as such there's certainly room for further refinement, in my opinion.

But 'uber unit' is now part of Panzer Corps 2 as in a trait for a random hero which lets you overstrength a given unit by 5 extra points. So in this particular case it has nothing to do with Rudel nor the community.
