I am pleased to announce that following discussion with Slitherine on the matter that a new forum will be set up here as a place where players can discuss, on an unofficial basis, possible new army lists and potential future changes to the existing lists.

So our agitated Byzantine-ophiles amongst others 8) can have at it. We look forward to seeing what you produce.

The new forum should appear soon - in fact viewforum.php?f=73

On a personal note I am really glad that I have been proved so wrong on this :P

Not that I recall - if you have some thoughts perhaps you could start a topic in the Player Designed Lists forum?

Well, no thoughts at the moment - a lot of unpainted lead though

Is there any particular reason not to use the Black Sheep or White Sheep Turcoman list from Eternal Empire?

Well, I'm not a historical expert on that era; but I had presumed that since DBM/DBA had them separately there was a reason???

What I meant was why do you particularly want to field an army from one of the minor Anatolian emirates covered by that DBM list, rather than from one the more successful Anatolian Emirates (Ottomans, Black Sheep Turks, White Sheep Turks)?

The reason we did not do a full list for them was that we didn't think anyone would really want one. They are not hugely different from the aforementioned lists, and are historically rather insignificant.
If we did do a full list, it would pretty much just be a scaled up version of the Anatolian Turcoman allies list in Eternal Empire.

However, if you would like to post a proposed list in the Player Designed Lists section, it may, if it makes the grade, in due course get published as a free download.

Well, as I said; since they were separate in other rules I presumed a significant difference. I already had the lead for making a BBDBA army, just haven't gotten to the painting part yet

So, before I did that, I thought I would see if it was practical to make a FOG army with a little more effort from the BBDBA army

I may take a stab at generating a list; or may just add them to my Turkomans (Turkomen??).

Or run them together with the Turcoman LH as an Early Ottoman army. The figures ought to be suitable.

The Lombards are in Decline and Fall. There isn't currently a list for that period's Saxons. Somewhat oddly, the Old Saxon list says it stops in the early 6th century, but Carolingian Franks can have allied contingents from it. Normally that sort of thing happens when a people become too small or subjugated to field their own armies, but that doesn't really apply to the Old Saxons.
