Coast Con FOG Tournament March 21-23, 2008

5 game tourney 800 points 1 list 3.5hr plus random time finish current phase. All books up to and including Wolves will be allowed.

Round 1 7pm Friday Night
Rounds 2-4 Saturday 9am, 2pm, 7pm,
Round 5 Sunday 8am

In an effort to accommodate players that want to play both 4 and 5 games I will use the following format:

Players that cannot play on Friday Night will be slotted into the standing Saturday morning prior to round 2 using the actual average score for all players that played on Friday Night.

After round 4 this score will be replaced by the average of this player’s scores from the 3 games on Saturday.

Players that played on Saturday Night will be allowed to substitute the average of their 3 Saturday games in place of their Friday score if it is higher.

All of these adjustments will be made prior to the final round pairing for Sunday morning. With no further averages calculated or adjustments made.

Players will not be allowed to play the same player twice in the tournament.

Efforts will be made to not pair players form the same area in Rounds 1 and 2 ONLY.

This may sound a little confusing but I have it all computerized on a spreadsheet at it will be clear and (I think) the most fair way to accommodate those unable to play on Friday with a different approach to the “Drop Low Score” approach.

I will be the referee for the event and all rulings will be final and consistent though out the event. I make no promises as to perfection.

If figures have been moved (without proper marking of position) prior to a situation being called to the attention of the referee and the issue involves measurements the decision will be decided against the player that actually moved the figures in question.

Lists are to be submitted to me by March 14th, 2008. Players should indicate if they plan to play on Friday night on their list. Send Lists to KAL5056(at)MSN(dot)Com

Late submissions will be ridiculed, harassed, and forced to bid high on the 400lb Princess Lea (slave girl variant) at the Auction.

There will be a great FOG demo / teaching experience starting at noon on Friday.
(Thanks to Walt for organizing) I am also going to let folks get an early start
on Friday 1st round games so that a couple of people with Saturday conflicts can
get two games in on Friday. Please let me know if you are willing to play late
on Friday. I would like to see everyone there as early as possible so we can
try and catch a Pre-round 1 dinner.

It is looking like 1st round is shaping into a battle of East Vs West. The
numbers are stacking up for a LA (and Ian) vs. The World pairing shuffle. This
will all depend on who shows of course.

Remember you only have to get 3 games in on Friday and Saturday to have a 4 game
score calculation for final table pairings for Sunday's final table.

After the last game Saturday Night I will give players that have completed 4
games the option of substituting their 3 highest game average score for their
lowest score.

Players that have only played 3 games will have their average submitted as their
4th score.

This will decide the final round pairings.
