It seems that Steam has a built in live multiplayer system, called Remote Play.

Yeah, I mentioned it once in forum. The downside is that you can't hide anything from your opponent as it is a share-screen built-in.

Sadly, remote play together is also very laggy even I have a very good internet connection.

Maybe your opponent doesn't have a very good connection. I've tried 1080p stream with my friend and it's quite playable. Any resolution higher than that doesn't work for me.
