This mod allows historical Skirmish battles to be generated for the Italian Army on the Eastern Front from July 1941 to April 1943. From May 1943 Italian units that were not historically deployed on the Eastern Front are added to the Italian unit roster, allowing you to create "what if" Skirmishes.

Thanks to Tim1966 for the German 77mm Gun model, which I have used for the Italian 75mm Field Gun.

I don't have any suitable aircraft models for the types used by the Italians on the Eastern Front, so they just use the normal German types.

Occasionally the Skirmish generator will give you a fixed force for the Italians, with no units available for selection. If this happens it is likely that the Italian force will be a bit smaller than it should be. It will mean that this particular scenario will be a bit harder than normal, so if this bothers you just create another scenario.

How to install

This mod is now available for download within the game using the Download Community Scenarios button.

Alternatively, download the compressed file;

and unzip it using Winrar something similar. Then just paste it into your My Documents/My Games/BA2/CAMPAIGNS folder.


How to use

Open BA2 and select "Skirmish" from the main menu. Click the "Advanced" button in the middle of the screen. Click "Use Default Data" in the bottom right of the screen. This will bring up a list of campaigns and mods that you have installed, so select "Italian East Front Skirmish". Then just select your Skirmish preferences in the normal way and click "Create".

If you want to use the non historical Eastern Front Italian units in hypothetical scenarios select a date from May 1943.

I would love to, but without decent accurate models for the Romanian and Hungarian AFVs etc it is not really possible. I would not be satisfied with using other models as placeholders.

Paul you're on a roll with all of these mods (seriously I can't believe I'm so late on hearing about these!)! Hoping for more in the future! : D

The mod has now been updated to version 1.1, and can be downloaded through the game.

Changes:

REPLACE added to ArmyList.txt to override existing army lists.

Three of rico's scenarios added.

Fixed Minefields not working against the AI. They now work against both sides.
