I have a simple procedural suggestion for war making. When a faction declares war they use the diplomatic panel to also state their initial war goals/cassus belli (using the current peace terms). Notice I said "initial", so the proposal counter-proposal system that currently exists can alter the terms as things evolve. Why? Because it creates a starting point for peace terms/negotiations.

Another clause/term suggestion could be "political marriage". This is an alliance with some additional strings attached. The side breaking this alliance will suffer some sort of temporary decadence penalty (representing internal political upheaval for turning away from your family).
