Err, this might sound like a bit dumb, but whenever I try to edit .CSV file in data folder and try to launch game, this error pop up.

In this example, I tried to edit a single value of any unit in the units.csv and this error always pop. any idea how to fix this ?

The CSVs in Empires use semicolon as the separator, rather than comma as your spreadsheet application may expect. You should have the option to select the separator when loading and/or saving the file.

I've learnt this the hard way, you need to amend (using windows) how your csv files are generated, then they will read easily into a new scenario

Then try to overwrite the old file
When I load the game, this pop up

So in short, the game wont launch and pop up error if i do anything to the .CSV files, even in the old form

You need to change your windows set up, you can't control this direct from excel. The bit you need is via the region tabs on settings, but run a google search and there are plenty of step by step guides.

Once I realised what I needed to do, it was easy to find instructions
