Quick Questions/Answers Thread

I figured something like this might be a good idea, given the number of questions I keep encountering and needing to make threads for.

I know the difference in lost points (both effectiveness and hits) determines victory in a battle, but does that include effectiveness hits during the skirmish? Or does it only affect health lost?

Also, if a unit is already exhausted, but takes an effectiveness hit during melee, does that count towards the victory total? Or is it only actual effectiveness lost?

mostly in 10.7.6 of the manual:
To determine the outcome, each side sums up their losses in terms of both hits and lost effectiveness.
If the difference between these scores is 3 or more, then the side with the smallest value is the winner, otherwise the battle is a draw ....
and from 10.7.3:
A ranged attack can never kill a unit, only inflict fatigue and tired or exhausted units then will have an extra penalty in the duel phase.
so the skirmish phase can only inflict fatigue - which of course has an impact on performance in the duel phase
