Stoa

It is some turns I'm loosing lot of money because the merchants operating in Stoa are too rich.
Tried to disassemble 3 or 4 Stoa but the problem is still there.
Does anybody know how many Stoa can be built before they begin to crash your economy?
Is it a fix number or is it proportional to the nation's size?

You must have a lot of Stoa if you get the events repeatedly. The probably to get it is 1% per Stoa per turn. I would advise having more than 5-8. Which provide already a +25% to +40% global boost to the economy... Already awesome.
ps: The Empire of Wealth (global) modifier, which is shared with the Judean Market, has a tooltip in the nation panel telling you the number.

Thanks for the tip.
I probably didn't realize how many stoa were present because some of them were already built in newly conquered regions ...

So the question is...is the 5% global boost of your income (for your empire) more than the cost of the event divided by 100? It almost certainly is, so it is just something you have to put up with...keep building Stoas.

As the Ptolomies in a MP game around T80 or so, I have one Stoa. When I have two Stoas, I suffer frequent financial crashes- basically every turn or every other turn. With one stoa, I also have regular crashes but not as often.
Sounds like a bug may be lurking around in the Stoas if you are suppose to have a lot of stoas before crashes.

In fact, having a check at the game, where I'm playing as the Ptolemaics too, I noted that at the moment I have only 4 stoas and, yet, at every turn my economy got crushed.
Maybe is really a bug affecting this faction ...

I have I think 6 Stoas and the message pops up nearly every turn. Often lose an increasing amount, about 1,500 at Turn 100. Which is a lot, I admit.
What to make of the Stoas then? Only build 1 or 2, don't build them at all, build many?

That's unfortunate these reports only came after the 1.06 patch, but not your fault, that's mine because there is a bug... So it will have to wait official 1.07, once Diplomacy is ironed out.

Don't bother Pocus, we'll survive anyway!
But just to know, the problem is affecting only the Ptolemaic faction or also the other nations suffer the same problem?

All factions I think. I was playing as Antigonids most recently

Same playing Epirus. And having 3-4 Stoas was enough in order to have this events each turn.
Overall in my case not a big issues and actually a welcome one because I was doing an hell of money....and the regular stoa crash was lowering the turn income to something human like 1k or 2k each turn.

its a variant of one of the commerce/market buildings for Hellene factions. it gives a huge boost on commerce at the regional level but also each gives you a +5% commerce boost across your faction. Before they were hugely overpowered as you could build everwhere and run up a massive faction bonus - so this intermittent malus was meant to undermine that approach. Prob is its working a wee bit too well

If you are only playing single player then the bug can probably be fixed on your end by editing a text file; this is how the gameplay code is done in Empires!
