Opponents wanted?

Is there a clearing house for ongoing "Opponents Wanted" requests? Is there consistent pbem activity with FoG:Empires?
I am thinking about purchasing the game (given the current sale), but don't want to do so to just end up playing solitaire. I prefer human opponents.
Also, do pbem players tend to integrate FoG II tactical battles into Empires? Seems like it would take a lot of time to resolve a turn.

There are a lot of mulitplayer games on the server. So finding one would be no problem. Intergarting battles from FoG2 isn't possible in multiplayer.

Why is it not possible in MP? I understand you can not make decisions while the battle is in progress, and it will just auto-play like it does now in current simulation. But to have that cinematic visual would be so awesome! And much more realistic. And will also fix all the misunderstandings people have regarding the current simulation, like why there are special can-only front-line tiles, and why they differ according to terrain, etc.
EDIT: (to devs) I now always get an error when posting (error 500), so I refresh and error again, and if I open the topic in another tab, I see I double posted, so I have to delete the second post. Please fix it. Anyone else having this issue or is it just me?
