Looking for Rus Mini's

I recently decided to start historical mini's when I saw the advertising for FOG. After looking thru the majority of the period books I have decided that my first army will be the Rus from Wolves of the Sea. I have started looking for 15mm Rus online but so far very little luck. Are there any other factions that look close enough that I can mix and match? Or is this going to be a painful process?
Either way thank you for the help.

You won't go far wrong with Viking spearmen for Rus.

Old Glory makes a good Rus line with the "door" shield and helmet.
I don't know if they have pictures or not but try

This range from Donnington may help you as well -
http://shop.ancient-modern.co.uk/russiansslavs-54-c.asp - also includes the rectangular shield mentioned above.

Tim Porter's site Madaxeman.com seems to list every known maker of 15mm minis this side of Paris. Try there.

Two Dragons makes a range of Rus and Vikings--some very nice Rus with 'door' shields.
Their main website is moving but they have some other links posted:

I second 'Two Dragon'.
I have a Two Dragon Viking army, absolutely beautiful figures. The trouble is he's been a bit unreliable in getting lead of late, but apparently he's back from where ever he went and is starting to manufacture again.
If you do decide to go Two Dragon let me know. I have quite a number of left over figures that I could sell you at a good price. They will be Vikings, but they will work for 'additional flavour'.
Anyway - despite the sales pitch you really can't go wrong with them.

Seeing the praise for 2 Dragons here can anyone link me to a site that shows the figures, My Samurai 15mm is 2 D and the figures are excellent but I cannot find a site that actually shows the Vikings and it would be a great shame if I could not add these to my Viking Army.

A small word of caution... Two Dragons are on the small end of most ranges. they normally don't mix well with others. I have some of their Vikings with their large two handed axe overhead and wanted to mix them in with my Old Glory. Pigmy size is appropriate compare to newer 15-18mms.
But to echo others, they are a great range with mass visual appeal.

I did a quick search, and can't find them, but I'll take some pictures and get back to you.

Thanks DaiSho, I look forward to that.
I don`t really have a problem with some minis being a little smaller as I am 6`3" and my Gaming mate is 5` 1" so it`s nice when armies reflect that.
I have some 20 different manufacturers in my 25-28mm Medieval Armies and they all look fine to me.

Yeah, I think quality matters. They have to be of the same quality and style, but difference in size isn't as big a problem. But a Tin Soldier "Hoplite" cannot be mixed with ANYTHING

I do think it strange that figurine manufacturers STILL have no pictures. How much is a digital camera?
You're a 25mm player right?
I have 15mm hellenistics. To me they are beautifully made but very cartoonish. You can't mix them up.
Here's a not so great picture of them:

If you do a search for "Dragons" on this page
http://www.madaxeman.com/15mm/search.php (making sure to select the "manufacturer" box as well !!) you will get a load of pictures of their Vikings, Normans and Rus figures.

Hi Terry,
As promised.
and
They aren't the worlds greatest images. My good digital camera stayed with 'the wife' when we separated.
Interestingly enough, when I was looking through the rule book I also saw some. The "Viking Shieldwall" in P124 is Two Dragon. I recognise the Berserker type chewing on the shield rim and the standard is very distinctive.

The Two Dragons Rus I have are larger than Essex, slightly larger than Khurasan, and similar to some Old Glory (but I don't have any OG Vikings/Rus, so not sure about the size of that specific range.)

Humans did not come in a uniform size. Short, tall, skinney, chubby, perfect build etc.......but not "uniform". In small units/numbers of minies in a unit....I do try for "uniform" as far as equipment. When equipment matches between different brands of minies I do like to mix it up.
