Pocus,

I've just viewed the latest moves in a MP battle and I've seen the strangest thing. I'm the Arverni and I've invaded a neighbouring province, owned by the Aquitani, and soundly defeated the opposition - there were no casualties to my army and the enemy were wiped out. Then I'm teleported back to my province and the territory is back is back in Aquitani ownership.

I've not made any moves and merely saved the game so you can see it. The game is Field of Diplomacy: Winds of Change.

Please advise what's happening and what I, or you, need to do to fix it.

I noticed that and thought it looked like an odd move. Make sure you haven't accidentally left the Retaliate order active in the army window for that army. That one sends the army back to the previous region instead of taking the new one over after it fights in enemy territory.

I can't ever remember using retaliate, but even if I did, then surely an invasion of the territory that the raiders came from would take precedence?

I've just checked, my unit doesn't have the retaliate flag on.

Pocus: Can you look at this before the game turn ends?

I have confirmed that the army did have a Retaliate order set when it moved. When that army returned to its own region, the retaliation was complete and the order was cleared.
