During a battle, when units fight, yellow and red numbers appear over their head. What do the colours and numbers indicate? Presumably, 2 red is worse than 2 yellow.

Yellow represents damage to efficiency points and red to hitpoints. Units that have efficiency damage suffer a penalty to combat rolls, units that fall to 0 hitpoints are destroyed.
