Slitherine

So I'm half way through and I just finished a long and arduous map (took me over 4 hours). I didn't want to jump right into another battle right away so I was going through my inventory and I reread both letters I had (one about stolen armor, one about a thief leaving his lover). Stop reading if you don't want to know. This is when I figured it out.
The locations on the world map were easy enough to locate based on the descriptions in the letters. So I moused over what I presumed to be the locations and nothing happened. Out of frustration I just started clicking my mouse, and lo and behold, I clicked on the correct location that was designated in the letter. You just have to keep clicking on the world map in the approximate location that the letters makes reference to. Dialogue appears that says you send scouts to each location after you click them. Long story short, you get a rare item from one and someone joins your party from the other.
I can't believe I accidentally figured it out. I looked online to see if anyone else had figured it out but, either no one has or no one posted how. That's why I'm posting this now. Don't want people going through the whole game carrying the letters or trading them to the blood oaks.
