FOGgy Spring Tournament

Saturday May 2nd, Columbus OH

15mm and 25mm

3 rounds on Saturday

We'll do something on Friday night for the out of town visitors as well.

Since this is our first year, I would like to get a tentative headcount (I currently have 2 venues in mind and I need a headcount to choose the best one). So please send me an e-mail if you are thinking about coming (yes or maybe) to sphallen – at – gmail – dot com and let me know.

Thanks,
Steve Phallen

Count me, Mike Hart and Dick Hurchanik in the 15mm event...

Perhaps Ernie Baker as well.

First three are for sure.

How are you going set match-ups/periods?

Use the 24 points on troops and not a fortified camp.

Cool. I'm working on some prizes and I'm trying to get a location where we can grill some brats for dinner. I'll keep everyone updated. -Steve

How late can we RSVP? I'd like to come, and I can probably guarantee one other, but May is a little tricky with work.

I am now about 80% sure I can make it. I am looking forward to it extremely, as it will be the final practice before the IWF.

Come on over to the mid-west Dan. We'll get you some practice for the test matches. You wouldn't want to pull a Hilton now, would you?

I can wait pretty late. I don't need a final count until about a week before. I have the venue ready and it is a great place. A shelter house in a small park all to ourselves including a kitchen. We'll do a cookout for dinner so we can all hang out and relax before the last round. I also think we're going to have a lot of first-time tournament players, maybe as many as 5 first-timers which is great for the hobby.

Steve,

Who is going to referee? I am working up some numbers on participation and am keeping track of things like, players, referees, etc...

I'll be the referee. I may be playing as well, depending on if we have even or odd numbers. -Steve Phallen

1 list, 1 march order
Please RSVP to me by April 25 and include your scale: sphallen at gmail dot com

The tournament will be held at a shelter house in a small park, it’s in the middle of a neighborhood, so you’ll want a map to figure out how to get there (link at the bottom). The shelter house has a kitchenette with a mini fridge so you can bring your own beverages if you like :). (It also has a turntable in case you want to spin some of your old vinyl). For dinner we’ll have a cookout with brats out on the patio. Entry fee is $15 including dinner.

It looks like we will have a good number of first time tournament players, so we are very newbie friendly. If you would like to come but don’t have an army, please let me know and I’m sure we’ll find a loaner army for you.

We have some great SPONSORS for you offering over $250 in prizes:

Scale Creep Miniatures: $100 in gift certificates www.scalecreep.com

Osprey: free books for the winners www.ospreypublishing.com

Wargamers Headquarters: $50 in gift certificates plus $3 gift cards for every participant www.wargamersheadquarters.com

For those arriving on Friday, we’ll do some sort of miniatures gaming on that night as well.

I have an available guest room at my house with a double bed plus 2 couches and an air bed, please let me know if you’re interested. There are also a large number of hotels within 5 miles of the site.

I look forward to seeing you all there and if you have any questions please e-mail me at sphallen at gmail dot com.
