Export Naval Battles Someday?

I wonder if Mare Nostrum would work as a program for Empires to export Naval Battles? Any other pc naval tactical games available?
As I have said elsewhere, another option would be to allow resolution using any other method chosen by the player (boardgame or minis rules)' The program would only have to give a summary of the details of the battle, and then when done ask the player to answer several questions on the outcome. I believe COTD and EIA do something like this, if you are familiar.

I don't own Mare Nostrum, but the reviews are good. FOG: Empires covers ancients battles from Ireland to India so Mare Nostrum would have to add some graphics to expand their offering, but perhaps FOG: Empires can make their graphics available.
Perhaps they can work out a deal. A tactical interface would certainly make me purchase Mare Nostrum.

Mare Nostrum uses a very different engine, so mapping stats and having the apps communicate would be trickier.

This is just a fantasy wish list item. A new DLC or new time period are more desirable to me.

A new time period is definitively doable

Mare Nostrum (while having some great ideas) wasn't really successful because of some fundamental design decisions that make it nearly unplayable. I bought Empires, FoG II and Mare Nostrum all at the same time hoping for just what is being talked about here. Of the three, MN was the greatest disappointment. I would love to see another try from the designer with an eye toward compatibility with Empires.

Medieval warfare offers lots of campaign opportunities.

Is Seas of Glory a computer game? Never heard of it and I try to keep up with galley games.

Sorry, it was a pun on the game Field of Glory.

Ah! Got it. RBS has said he won't touch naval or siege warfare unfortunately. Maybe the Empires devs can get someone to fill in those gaps. Then the game would be complete.
