I just wanted to let any interested people know that our little group will be doing a Demo of FOG at Crossroads in Cambridge,Ohio on Saturday,February 21st.It isnt in the program guide, but walk ups that want to try the game will be most welcome. We'll be running 1600 pts,LRR vs Later Seleucids with a Classical Indian ally.

about what time are you doing this? will it run at the same time as the DBA events? I'd surely like to see what you got goin down if nothing else.

I'm starting to think on a Battle of Magnesia for a demo game scenario. All I need now is a 25mm MR Roman (see also Mr. Roman and Mentally Retarded Roman) army.

Jeff, since this is an informal game,I think we've settled on "noonish". When I wrote that it'll be 1600 points, that will be per side,so it'll be a huge game that will probably take 5-6hours(at least thats my guess). It will be geared toward people who havent played before,we will have stat cards made for the roman units(but not the evil slewkidz) to make things a little easier. You will probably be done with DBA before,so feel free to come on over and join in!

Andy,if I end up playing, you can count on my dice being as bad as they were in the DBA tourney.

I am doing DBA that day.. Myself and Jeff did a demo at COGA in December.. 1600 points a side? Good hevans! The one we did, we had about 900-1000 points a side for 8 players.. We went at it for about 4.5 hours, really didn't finish it though. It would be helpful if you had a 2nd GM to help you. Jeff had one side of the table and i had the other. I will stop by and say hi. :D

I told you wrong about that rout.. He could have only done one or the other.. Not both.. So he would have busted through the sythed chariots.. Sorry! :(

Andy, thanks for taking the time to help out with those situations. We had a great time, the battle overall was pretty close. My flank got crushed like a tin can,I was facing mostly heavy legions with my Indian bow,but I guess I didnt shoot enough to disorder them. I did have one bow unit that trashed 2 light horse and held 3 turns against heavy cav. The Roman right was crushed as well, but the Romans squeaked it out on points.

It was roughly double sized,so approximately 24 per side, and each with 6 leaders. It was fun,and we had 2 people play that had never tried it before.

Oh,and I might add, that I painted about 3/4's of the figures on the board.Only some of the terrain was mine, but I love doing that, too. I painted that entire Seleucid army in 4 months, that was my labor for Cold Wars 08. My buddy Rich always foots the entire bill for the trip, and he gets painting for it.Otherwise,I couldnt afford to go.
