My feedback after some hours of play

1. Weapon/armour/mana is too scarce. I do not get to upgrade my units, yet the enemy sends more and more units.

2. AI summoners/transmuters. Do they have to worry about mana? They spawn units every turn...

3. Sunken lands...Yikes. Game balance is way off here in favour of the AI.
3a. The lizards attacks cause a very high ammount of kills, not plain damage, leaving you alot weaker after each attack
3b. The lizards move ability compared to yours means you are surrounded more or less all the time
3c. The lizards retreat ability seems to be 100%, add in the low mobility on your troops, and you struggle to kill even one unit. This is bad since you are outnumbered from the start.
3d. The lizards flying units. Due to your own inability to move on these maps, the dragons are just OP. No way to counter them by moving your units around to missile them. They also do insane damage.

4. The lack of core flying units (atleast so far, I am in sunken lands) is an issue. I would like to have my own flying units that can level up, just like the AI has.

5. Why do my leader insist on staying with lower range, lower damage slings and not learn how to make bows?

6. There should probably be a mana pool and settlement available somewhat early on in the maps as you depend on it. No settlement = no restoring units, no mercs, no mana pool means my only means of mana is the 2 mana per kill I get with my main hero.

I had fun with the game up to the sunken lands. Now I find it to be annoying. Sadly...

After a weekend of play, I am having infinitely more frustration than fun. I failed so often I started a new game on easy, and am still not doing well. Resources are too scarce and going against units that are superior in numbers and quality over and over is no fun.

I'm happy I just purchased the basic version. This game is not for me.

Thanks for the feedback - we are talking about what we can do to improve the balancing and I agree Sunken Lands is a bit too hard.

sunken lands, was hard on "normal" but was okay, with tactics and thinking ...
but that battle to leave it , was "deity" level und you even had fewer time and the map bigger :-(

The battle to leave was actually ok for me, only annoying thing there was that the spiders kept webbing the fuy trying to sneak over to the dragon, so I had to send someone down to help him out.

In the battle to leave I clustered all my units in the center to repell the main army and then spread out for loot after the Battle worked farily well.

I did the same thing, moved forewards to the river with good defensive positions, sent one guy down to visit the dragon, and my skirmishers and archers to deal with the rear area attack.

Pretty much the same except I had a few unit that I'd made more or less magic immuen to deal with the rear attack and had 3 troll hurlers to kill newts and skirmishers. Used the archers and some summoned spitting spiders to deal with their dragons.
