When Nellie the Elephant met Pharoah Rammettuphem II

I promised a AAR of Rammetuphem II’s latest adventures, so here goes:
I took NKE with 4 TC’s, Pharoah Rammetuphem II and his sons Prince Notahope, Haatwishiteon and of course, Prince Imphotent..
My opponent fielded Classical Indians with an IC and 2 TC’s.
The army was:
3 x 4 LCh, sup Bw
3 x 6 Mf, unprot. Bw
3 x 6 Hf, Prot, Lt Sp
1 x 6 Lf, Jv
1 x 6 Lf, Bw
All above drilled
1x 6 Lf Sup, Bw (Nubians)
1 x 8 Mf, Unprot. Imp Ft, Sw (Libyans)
1 x 8 Hf, Prot, Imp Ft, Sw (Sea Peoples)
I defended and the only terrain of note was a vineyard I placed centrally in my opponents ½ of the table to split his forces and one in my ½ in my center-right flank
I deployed with my Lf spaced in each 1/3rd, Nubians in the center aiming to get into my opponents vineyard. My Bw/Lt Sp groups were 2 Bw/ 2 Sp to my left and the other pair to my right but still central. My Mf Libyans also planned to head for my opponents vineyard behind the Nubians. The Sea People took the center supported by the Bw/Sp on their right and Lch to their left. The other LCh were to the right on my open flank, one well forward and the other supporting the Sea People and Bw/Sp BG’s.
My opponent placed from my left, 8 Prot Bw, El, 8 Prot Bw, El, 8 Mf Lsp, 6 Lf Bw, 8 Prot Bw, 8 Prot Bw, El, 8 Prot Bw, El, 4 Cv Sup Arm Lance, 4 Lh Bw. In rear support next to the Mf Lsp were 4 Indian Cv.
In my 1st bound I sent the Nubians and Libyans double moving to the vineyard under the command of Prince Imphotent, the Lch on the extreme right went forward to buy time commanded by Prince Haatwishiteon, while everywhere else I came forward slowly. The Indians came forward across their whole width.
In the next bound I started to pull back my Lf on the wings as they were facing big groups of Bw and would get slaughtered. The Nubians had traded shots with the Indian Lt ft no no effect so I pulled them behind the Libyans so there was no chance of getting “stuck” there as I readied to charge the Indian Mf. The Indian Lf then had the check to get 3 hits on the Libyans, who promptly dropped a level!
On my right the LCh were facing the Lancers while the Lh got around to their flank. The Indian archers and Lh shot at my LCh to no effect, my LCh promptly shot a lancer from his saddle! At this Prince Haatwishiteon charged the Lancer/Bw group and desultory combat flared up! With all our dice no advantage was gained by either side for several turns! My Lf Jv in the meantime had angled themselves to shoot at the Bw and promptly got 3 hits and dropped the Bw a level who also failed their death roll.
The Indian Lh charged the flank of Haatwishiteon’s LCh who still held on although eventually loosing 2 stands. What a hero!! Single handed they had taken a Bw, Cv and Lh BG out of the game.
My remaining LCh charged the Lh in the concluding bound.
In the center, Prince Imphotent bolstered the Libyans and they charged the Indian Mf in the vineyard. This too went on for several bounds as we drew impact and then both of us failed to get many hits after that. Eventually the Indian Cv were able to add their weight and finally the Libyans broke.
The key combat however was a Bg of el coming through to the right of the vineyard. I was now able to bring the Nubians and a BG of Chariots in to shoot and also had 1 stand of Ave Bw shooting. So 7 sup dice and one ave dice later I had 7 hits on the El who failed their death roll. Scratch one Nellie Bg!
To the left of the vineyard my 2 Bw/ 2 Hf Bg’s faced 2 Bw BG’s and 2 El Bg’s. A good couple of rounds of shooting dropped the Nellies to fragged. These broke when my Hf interpentetrated my Bw and charged Nellies and Bw, who went disr when the Nellies fled.
Finally in the center my Sea Peoples and the other Bg of Hf got into 2 Bw BG’s and made short work of them! Led from the front by Pharoah Rammettuphem II himself who in the melee struck down the Indian IC! At this the both Bw Bg’s dropped a level and the Indians were clearly doomed.
At this point my opponent conceded, I had broken 3 BG’s of Bw, 2 Bg’s of El, 2 Bg’s were fragged and he was about to loose his Lh and another Bw. I had lost only the Libyans and would probably loose my hero LCh Bg on base loss.
