This game never ends... I suppose

Being a newcomer to Panzer Corps, I must say I am very pleased with the so many different possibilities it offers.

Few months ago I started with the basic campaign (colonel level, boxed version) and I liked a lot. A much better version of Panzer General which I played a lot in the past.

Then I moved to Afrika Corps, very exhiting! After that played some scenarios here and there but basically waiting for Panzer Corps 2. So the game was kind of ended.

I did nt have a clue about the versatility of the the DLC of the Grand Campaigns, which I started as a test, only to discover at the end of GC west 42-43 that you can carry over core units to 44 and 45 west!

That was is it. This game never ends. It will take numerous time of fun to finish with it and then you have the difficulty levels and then the different GCs campaigns, this is awesome!

Having discovered the Steam achievements I bought it also and currently Im giving another try from the beginning of GC west 42-43 on a General difficulty.

ps thanks to all the members of this forum Im learning a lot of tricks and this is even more fun, being gratefull to all and Slitherine and the developers for their fine product.

And there's plenty of good quality free mods as well once you've run through all the official extensions, and tested out different settings or personal challenges.
I've been playing for ages and still enjoy it.

This has been almost 5 years of Panzer Corps goodness for me, and I still have not played through it all, I will eventually but the replay value just keeps me coming back for more and more and more....

Best game ever in my opinion

and you haven't discovered the best : one of MCGuba mod : Battlefield Europe : you don't play missions after mission but only a huge map of the Europe from 1941 to 1945. It is so different like gameplay! and so fun !

thanks a lot for this one, I will give it a try.
One more question, will this interfere with my current Panzer Corps steam account?

From the directions I read I think it runs as a stand alone mod, thanks again

If you just copy the modified files over your steam version, it does not interfere with your steam account. You would need to reinstall/repair the game to play the original again, which isn´t a problem through the steam interface. There are other ways, but this is how I played the mod and it was very convenient. The only thing I could not do is play both the mod and the original at the same time.

Starting a 39 grand campaign takes a while. 40-42 fly by, but 43-44 you really start to have to be very careful. Easy to blow all your prestige if you pointlessly batter your forces.
Plus there's east and west. So there's a lot to do. I find you have to take different approaches to the Western Allies as opposed to the Soviets

Thanks Elkarlo, good points to think over. I never thought of the differences between east and west. Mainly because until recently I have only played the Vanilla game 39-45.

Only recently I discovered the DLCs magic world.

With GC 42-43 West. It is amazing how much effort is needed to cope with Allied air force units. I couldn’t believe how easily experienced Me 109 units were being shot to pieces! It was annoying at the beginning and couldn’t find an easy counter tactic. Until I managed to stop attacking me so fiercely, by selling all of mine Me 109, although experienced and buy green FW 109 units. That made a huge difference for me and since then I am more “relaxed” when facing allied air tactics. Simultaneously, deploying 4 A/A units, two 88’s and two mobiles.

Now I am at GC 44 West - steam version to enjoy achievements, general difficulty.

I just finished St. Lo and Falaise scenarios! What a nightmare comparing with previous missions. Finishing St. Lo is quite difficult, because of an over stretched battlefield, somebody has to cover!
And then came Falaise, advancing and being attacked from all sides! Ouaou that was something to remember. My first map trial was disastrous, then I carefully planned an early turns attack to the south west, managing to capture some objectives, early enough. Finishing on day 14, I can only imagine the difficulty of the last turns, which I skipped this way.

Well for me this game, never ends I am sure. Scenario and map design are great!

Hi everybody, I was not posting for a while, due to combat duties, yes it was all about me playing and finishing the Grand Campaign West from 42-43 to 45, on General level, what an experience I really enjoy it, playing for months! Now, not so sure to what to play next. GC East, DAK at what level of difficulty, any suggestion more than welcomed

Why didnt u upgrade the experienced BF109s to the FW190s?
