Resizing map scotched scenario

All,
I just resized a map on a scenario and restarted it. The scenario does nothing after it loads -- no ability to select next unit, slew through the battlefield with the mouse, purchase units option panel comes up totally blank, the only thing that works is the little zone selector in the mini-map. If you click on pass to next opponent, it goes to the AI but nothing happens. You can call up the forces panel and click on your units but nothing happens.
Also, i didn't think or recollect that objectives descriptions in the mission settings would reset to 1_0_0 2_0_0 status -- i have resized maps before without this effect.
I know about the locations being lost, so I saved the Text File so I could re-input easily.
This is not a crisis, I have a backup from pre-resizing that still works.

Is there a magic hex that I deleted in resizing? It went from 60x70 to 30x45, used one negative starting point to clip off extra hexes on left. But I have done this before without this issue occurring.

How might I troubleshoot this -- settings look ok, etc. What should I check for?

Have you resized your map in several steps ?

The editor creates a _crop folder after the map is cropped. You need to save the cropped scenario and then copy the text_english file from the _crop folder to the scenario folder. Otherwise you'll lose all location names, objective txt and probably briefing txt.
I have never had any problems with the scenario behaving odd after a crop.
But most scenarios will need to be cropped in baby steps, ie 10 hexes for each crop.

Erik, Terminator,
Thanks for the info. I did it in one jump the first time and it wouldn't play anymore. Then I tried again on the working scenario and went in small increments from 60x75 to 40x60 which is the last size at which it functions. I'd like to get it to 30x40 eventually. I guess it's not a good idea to make a giant map for several different scenarios to start with. At least not with city names, etc on it, with objectives. I forgot about all the objective texts going away, and the picture names, too.
I did copy the names but did not know that you could re-paste a _crop file back to the scenario text to save retyping all of it.
I thought the names had to be retyped because the hex references would be not applicable in the newly-sized scenario.

Once you get used to some of the trigger and objective methodology, working with the map is the most frustrating thing. I never know how big the hexes should be until I start playing, and by then it might be too late.

c'est la vie, c'est la guerre
