Hi, uop-to-date Windows 10 PC, new Steam install of FOG2, started a campaign, played the 1st battle, used the Save function, not sure if it worked or not as there was no confirmation message, exited, came back later to resume, but Load function did not show any saved games. Tried to Save several more times, no luck.
Thanks,
Jim Cunningham

if you install and run as admin, it will setup the correct file permissions to run, and save, if you don't, then i may not depending on your O/S settings

anti virus and firewalls alter this, so if your running a 3rd party one of either, you would need to give extra permissions, if your using the default ones with windows 10, you don't as installing and running as admin sets it up for you

Thanks for the response. However, with a Steam purchase the Steam client handles the installation, I don't get an opportunity to install as admin. I went into the Steam library and changed the Compatibility settings for the FIELDOFGLORY2.exe to "ran as administrator" but then the program generated a Steam error when launched and exited.

I had to explicitly grant FIELDOFGLORY2.EXE permission to write to C:\Users\Jim\Documents\My Games

Ah great, I am glad that fixed it. It can be a problem with some Antivirus or Firewall software. Which one was it?

Is there any chance you could modify your STEAM review?

Richard

if you always run steam as admin and how to run games as admin so they always work and run as designed

Run the game as Administrator
Right click the game in your Steam Library.
Go to Properties then the Local Files tab.
Click Browse Local Files.
Locate the game executable (the application).
Right click it and go to Properties.
Click the Compatibility tab.
Check the Run this program as an administrator box.
Click Apply.

In some cases, running Steam itself in Administrator mode may resolve the issue:

Navigate to your Steam install folder (Default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam).
Right click the Steam executable.
Follow the above steps to set it to Run as Administrator
Restart Steam.
