First thanks for giving me the coupon. I used it playing the game on Slitherine page, and I've received a download link and a key.

The key doesn't work on steam. I used the key for insalling the game with the download link.

How can I play via Steam??

correct, you need to convert the site key free of charge to a steam key and is done with the developers link with instructions, thanks and enjoy the game

I received a discount for beta testing as well, thank you. But oddly, Steam offered me some sort of Master Bundle including Field of Glory Empires + Field of Glory for 25% off and it knew I already had Field of Glory, so I ended up with Empires for -25% on Steam. Seemed like a good deal to me, so nabbed it there!

Yes, but since I already had Field of Glory and it knew that, I think from way back when we were playing it on a Steam key maybe?, it just charged me for Empires -25%. Sweet!

I had the same thing happen - the coupon from Slitherine as a gift for BETA application seems to be a bit less than 25% - the game works out cheaper via Steam without the coupon as I already own FG2!

Why would anyone want to use/have to use Steam when Slitherene offers a complete DRM free non-internet required to play version. ( plus the Steam version )

Thanks for the answer. I've playing for 5 hours in the non steam version and I like it at the moment.

I've written an small review on steam that I'll update in the future when I play more hours.
