See the Monster FOG theme for the outline of a 4000pt a side 15 player game I am keen to organised for the Friday afternoon at the Challenge if I can get enough players keen to play who can bring contingents. A great opportunity to have some fun and stretch the battle system to a massive scale. Draft contingents for all praticipants already posted on the Monster FOG stream. Take a look.

Lynda is planning to be there,I will be along a bit later,its cost a day off for Friday even though I only work until 12.45,We can supply a selection of warband,cavalry and Light horse but probably not enough for one of the complete armies,I'll get a list together for you Simon

Shall wrote:To make it more interesting ... Each side has a C-in-C who commands just a bodyguard BG and some messangers. The Romans have 4 messangers the Huns 2. The c-in-c is responsible for doing a deployment plan for his army and for giving initial orders to the players. This will put the major contingents into centre left or right flank areas. So the troops need not be set out as they were in the battle - its up to the team. During the game they can move their messengers backwards and forward to change order status of any player; or can use their own character to do so. I probably won't be able to make it, but...

I suggest that you would be better off simply allowing the CinC to give whatever orders he likes and leave it up to the subordinates or allies exactly how, or indeed if at all, they execute them.

Then at the end the CinC's award a prize and a forfeit to their "best" and "worst" subordinates (based purely on the CinC's judgment).

Thats a nice idea. Saves me a lot of effort and turns it into a peer pressure exercise. I can still subtly police it to prompt if not great.

Who is what now Simon? I have been replying to both threads so am Gepids on the other and Roman here. I have just ordered 120 Gepids so it would be nice to know.

You can be Gepids. I will keep the list of who is what pretty flexible as some juggling will be needed, but resta ssured that anyone who have a burning desire to be a particualr command (especially if they have gone to soem trouble) will be well catered for.

We need a lot more players to make this work so hopefully people will fill them up over the coming couple of week. If not I will scale back and you can be Gepids and something else
