Problems with Menu

First of all: hey!
I am brand new on steam and with this game (Commander). I installed everything (local Wnd 10) and started the game. After the intro i see a start screen with menu on the bottom and hear music in a loop. Unfortunaly i have no chance to get the menu buttons with my mouse. I tried to change the preferences, but doesnt matter wich preference i choosed - my mouse is not able to go down to the menu. I am frustratet, you have a solution for me?
