Blind bombardments DO hurt ground units

I already knew blind bombardments cause efficiency loss to enemy units, but GabeKnight has pointed out that they also inflict strength point loss which is very good news, so I ran this test to confirm it (7.1.8 vanilla)..:)
1- I order the four US 105mm's to bombard the circled hex because I placed a German infantry unit in there in the editor.
2- The arty begins plastering the hex.
3- I send in a C-47 to spot the unit and we see that the units strength number '10' has turned a sickly yellow indicating loss of efficiency.
But wait, there's even better news!- the UI indicates that the units strength has been reduce to '4', even though its strength plate still reads '10'.
4- Gabe pointed out that the strength plate takes a turn to update, and bingo, we see that a turn later it's updated to strength '4'..:)

Below: HOWEVER, for the record blind bombardments have no effect on ships or subs, their strength and efficiency stay at maximum even on the next turn.

The strength-plate bug or update-delay don't seem to happen all the time though.
Bombard and firing on radar-blips truely seems to have the same damage and efficiency effect, according to my own tests.
Bombarding ships with my modified towed artillery guns with naval attack values also do the same damage.
