Normally, a unit will keep its original facing after suffer a flank impact and then face the attacker on the next turn.
But sometimes, I think mostly when a cavalry got flanked, the unit would immediately face the attacker (the attacker still get the flank PoA).
This lead it easily get chain flanked and suffer a free cohesion drop - normally ai tries to face where most of charges coming from.

I'm not quite sure the conditions for this to happen. As the manual didn't mention much about this.

It happens when cavalry gets flank-attacked by infantry, supposedly so cavalry can try to fall back after the impact.

I just figured it out also - if the cavalry tries to retreat but gets blocked, it will change facing even not moved at all.
