I am wondering if there are plans to include a "true" Hot Seat Mode, and an option to choose units for both sides when making a custom battle.

These too options would provide a quick and easy way for exploring the game mechanics and qualities of different units when in Single Player.

Supposedly it is in the works. We'll see if it made it into the Wolves at the Gate patch later today when the expansion releases.

It's in the patch. LOL. You requested it and one day later it's here. Now, that is service.
