Slitherine

Last year we ran a nice team competition, which gave some meaningful games but without the stresses of a standard tournament. I have been discussing with Kiwiwarlord and we would like to do it again.

The focus of the competition will be the Ming v its (many) enemies.

Players will be in teams of 3 or 4, depending on how many players we get and will play four rounds, probably two games each round, and have a chance to play both Ming and anti-Ming. There will be of course individual glory for winning games or playing heroically and totals for each team to give a competitive edge. We might out of curiousity also tally the wins and losses for the Ming and their enemies.

When I know how many players we have then I will post a schedule of games.

Imo, the mongol armies are very difficult to use, and only have some chance on steppe maps.

I'll play. I need more reasons to boot up this fabulous game some more. Enjoying a Yuan versus Hojo PBEM game atm.

If you don't mind that I have never play this game (only Pike&Shot, just few minutes ago bought this game), you can include me.

It is no problem if you have not played much SJ. We will try to arrange the games so that there is a mix, against experienced and newish players. I will ask the older hands to be helpful on the way and give hints rather than exploiting, for example, errors that you would usually avoid (unless like me you make them over and over!)

@ahuyton Are you still waiting to see if we can get more players for this? Maybe I can try to rope Richard Yorke or others into it AKA ask around and see if any folks that have Sengoku that I know are interested. Just curious how many folks do we potentially have so far?

Thanks for the update ahuyton. If you and the others want to start this week that suits me fine. But, if you'd rather wait and see if we can get some more players that is alright too. I did post a few messages on the FoGII and Slitherine Discord servers in an attempt to drum up more interest. I also reached out to a few folks I play PBEM with regularly but so far no takers it seems.
