No dont do that :)

We dont accept any e-mail applications. All beta pplications must be done through the online beta test sign up. Currently we're looking for FOGN players but once you register you'll included in the FOGR beta as well.

Does that imply we should apply now, even if not interested in the Napoleonics Beta, as otherwise we might find the Renaissance beta already full with people 'rolled over' from the Nappies?

Yes - at least that is what I was told :)

hopefully my unhappy experience playtesting one of slitherine's PC games won't count against me!

Shame about the Beta policy. I doubt I could add anything to a FOGN beta but I probably would know much more that is relevent to FOGR than many of the FOGN gamers. Oh well.

You never know timmy1.

I was on the FoG beta from a fairly early stage, even though my entire ancients experience was limited to two incredibly confused games of DBM.

I don't know how much help I was in the end, but my argument was that the rules have to work for beginners to the period, and beginners to wargaming in general, and having only very experienced gamers on the beta cannot guarantee that.

I'm hoping the same reasoning will apply and get me on the FoGN beta :D

Surely the most important quality for a tester is an opponent!

How are the Beta testers chosen then. Is there a criteria list somewhere.

Should beta testers be in groups?
That is two or three players working to refine aspects of the rules.

(Even if they say they come from Yorkshire)

Two or three beta testers from Yorkshire in a group - tell the FoGR team to expect 4 opinions on every subject from that lot...

Okay, I don't know why But I am rebasing all My Perry/Kingsford Samurai for FOG. I swore to God I would never rebase all of them but here I am.

How can I sign up to be a Beta tester? I have easily 2 600 point armies painted and ready to go (so as the rebasing thing is done). For 1570 to 1610.

Now if someone had Koreans.....No Dave! looka away from the light....But the invasion.....No look away! Turtle ships.....No look away...Warrior monks.....Where can I get a loan from? Do the Perry twins take payment plans..
