So, I had to reformat my harddrive and I re-installed FOG 2. I attempted update it with the latest patch and I get an error message. so now I'm downloading the patch from this site and hoping I can update the game. Can anyone explain why I can't update from the auto launcher?

Well, that's for birds. I can't even update it manually. Is it me or is it something else? Trying to keep an open mind here.

What error message? Where did you get the original installer? What version does the game say it is?

if you installed the game as right click install as admin on the main game, and also do the same on the patch, right click run / install as admin, the game sets up the correct file permissions to not only run, but access the online part even if you don't use a default firewall and anti virus programs, though even saying this, there are some poor 3rd party ones which even doing this, won't work, as there not game friendly and then you would have to say which one to get someone from support to look online to advice you on how to manually get the file permissions changed.
