Well why not check out Andy's Endsieg AAR where alot of different tactics are discussed. You find it here http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 64&t=88468

I haven't played Ardennes Offensive yet, but I prepared this map for when I do, to help me plan my strategy and lines of attack etc, and other players might find it interesting too.
If I interpret the victory conditions correctly, the Germans have to capture at least 3 Reds and 3 Blues to win.
RED= Primaries
BLUE= Secondaries
PURPLE LINE= the front line at the start of the game.
For good measure I've circled Airfields in yellow.
Many supply points are everywhere and I've left them out to avoid cluttering the map.

And here are the German deployment areas all along the front line; we have a free hand to spend 3800 purchase points (in conjunction with 85 ground command points) and deploy it anywhere we like..:)

And 34 turns to do the job..:)

A possible strategy that looks promising (on paper at least) is this one; the Germans can advance along the arrows to seize the required 3x Red and 3 x Blue objectives and if they pull it off there'll be no need for them to go deeper into the western half of the map at all, they can simply dig in to brace themselves against the Allied counterattack and bleed the Allies white-

* Minor Spoilers ahead *

This was a tough one for me. My first two attempts I directed my primary attack along the north side of the map, grabbing the fuel depot along the way to Liege. That approach is definitely possible, but I struggled to push across the open ground near the city without taking costly losses.

I found it much more comfortable to push on Bastogne and Luxembourg first. I moved through the forest and then swept up through Dinant and Namur. This way I never had to deal with the powerful formations around Liege.

That's solid advice thx. I think I'm on my 8th try, or something like that, never had this much trouble with a map before :mrgreen: I'm like drawn to the open ground around Liege, but get stuck in wet infantry, tanks and TD. So perhaps true the forest...Next time.
